We were out walking along the cliff tops when I spotted some bluebell like flowers which were white. Unusually they had triangular stems, I can't find them in my books does any one have any suggestions? I didn't have my camera so no piccies unfortunately.

I'm sure these are the ones you've seen Celia..I took this picture last May at Minack Theatre,we usually stay in Sennen every year at that time of the year.
All I know about it is that down there it's known as the onion plant. And the coincidence is that I asked 'dancing queen' if she could sent me a bulb or two a couple of days ago!

Also known locally as Three Cornered Leek, it's an Allium, and they spread like wildfire so take care if you are thinking of putting them into the garden.

The damn things sprout up everywhere  They survive composting, incendiary devices and even napalm! And they stink too!! Beautiful, but not in your borders!!! :D

Would they do well in a pot? I'd love a couple of bulbs, if anyone has any spare...(that have survived incineration etc!)

They would do well anywhere JarBax but beware of seeding, cut the heads off maybe? You can have as many as you like as I'm having trouble eradicating them

Flipping 'eck, Blackthorn got there before me   :D I've got them popping up everywhere, even coming out from under concrete  They seem to be having a good year this year and do look fantastic on masse in the hedges but I think a pot would be the way to go Jarbax....I wouldn't put them near a seating area either because the foliage smells really strong of onions...unless you really like onions??!! :D
