Hi, I have this growing in the back corner of the garden & I was hoping someone could id it for me?

Over the summer I want to put decking where it currently stands so would liketo cut it off the obelisk it currently clings to & train it flat to the fence. How & when should I do this??

It looks like one of the Lonicera caprifolium group. There are a few named forms which are very similar to each other.
To train it, just fasten wires to the fence and tie the shoots of the plant to it as it grows. Cut off any which grow in the wrong direction. It is very tough and can stand a lot of messing around with.

Do it as soon as possible then, so you get some flowers later on in the season.
