Shrub ID Please

    Hi All, I have this decidious shrub alonside my garage that seems to have bloomed. Any ideas what it is?

    This made me chuckle, r2oo, because our last "debate" was Weigela vs Abelia. It will be nice to see yours with some leaves on, but I think they are confusing too.

    I certainly would not have gone for any of the Viburnum family.

    It is one of the Viburnum x bodnantense group, either Dawn or Charles Lamont.

    I think it's Weigela, especially looking at the link I posted. The flowers are identical.

    When was the photo taken? If in Jan or Feb then surely it must be a viburnum - unless global warming has totaly screwed up our gardens

    Oooh, said I wouldn't join in any more but ... my Viburnum tinus is in full bloom now and aren't we a different scenario weatherwise ????

    My viburnum is in flower and it looks exactly the same as the one in question. The fact that it is in flower now and there are no leaves on the shrub is surely the clincher.
