Thank you Pete and Strongy .. nice to know I have friends! :D

I am only a messenger, like an angel! [IMG]

K-G and hubby assure me that they picked up these nuts from under this tree in January whilst on holiday in Cyprus, and on arrival home in Germany promptly planted these nuts. They brought six 30cm (approx) treelets in their suitcases down to us along with several extra nuts (ha, ha)!

So, when we discover what these exotic, elegant and PRICELESS trees are, I guess you two guys don't want any nuts .. huh? :D :D :D

T'other half agrees, Strongy, with your observation entirely and is pleased to finally have a second opinion!

Pete - the treelets were grown from those odd nuts which LofL put up for me. They were definitely small trees and the ground underneath them was strewn with these nuts, so they must have come from the trees. It was not just one tree but all of them.

Is anyone going to Cyprus in January? If yes, I will tell you exactly where to look for the trees and nuts.

But did the trees look anything like the seedlings from the nuts?

I am beginning to wonder! They must have or the ground under the trees wouldn't have been strewn with the nuts. Gad! why didn't I take a photo!

I think I have found it LoL. We just got some pics back from a single use camera we took with us to Cyprus and I was thinking how I wish I was back under a tree by the pool in the warm weather again. I thought about the tree and it's yellow flowers, thin green pointed leaves and something about the seeds/nuts!. I had seen it before (the suspense is building) in Tenerife and looked back at the pic of your nuts(!) and they look the same. Try googling Thevetia Peruviana and see if you think it is the same.

It sort of triggered when you mentioned oleander as I remembered Thevetia as being known as yellow Oleander and when I googled it the nuts looked the same. [IMG]

You may have hit the nut on the head, Strongy! :D :D I will forward a couple of the links I found to K-G via e-mail (she's not on broadband) and we'll see what the response is.

Pete, you were right, but the leaves are totally different and Nerium do have pods ... I have lots and lots and lots and lots and ....

PS I have four nuts ( :D ) one broken open though if either of you two are interested. [IMG] Also the Tecomaria has zillions of pods.

Now that we've had a postive ID, we've gone out and bought 50 litres for each of the concrete pots we brought back from the UK and here they are(well, I'm only photographing one) planted up with our Thevetia peruviana ...
