Hello!

Hello All,
I've just registered and wanted to introduce myself.

I'm pretty much a beginner to gardening, though my main interest lies with vegetables. Last year I was allowed a small plot in my garden on the decking and grew several lettuces in old plastic pots under a plastic shelter. It certainly wasn't anything fancy and I'm surprised that they flourished as well as they did.
However, it sparked the greenfingers in me and now a year on, I'm currently in the process of building a raised bed with my mum.
It really is just wooden sleepers at the moment but, once we're joined and leveled things will start coming into shape. I'm hoping to grow a general selection of the popular vegetables, and when I hopefully get a greenhouse, I'll adventure into peppers, chillies, tomatoes, cucumber etc.
My dad wasn't a fan of the idea, he would of much preferred the space at the bottom of the garden to be decked over and a seating area but, I got on with it and now he can't say no, there's a load of wood there instead. :lollol:
I'm looking forward to just "playing" with things, the bed will probably get filled within a week or so and then I think I will leave it for a while and then... well we'll see.

Anyway, I'm rambling on and on, if I can get some decent pictures, I'll show you the work in progress.

It's nice to see young people interested in gardening, rather than just us old codgers, you'll be joining a number of other young people who have found this site.

Ask anything you want to know and you'll get some helpful advice from; "those in the know" (unlike me!).
It's a very friendly place and I'm sure you'll enjoy reading the various threads.
