puschkinia libanotica & an exotic?

    I would like assistance with identification of the following...

    I think the first is puschkinia libanotica (but that is a guess).

    The second looks more like an exotic rubber plant. It has large leaves with a velvety feel on the underneath and they grow up to 12 inches in length. The plant/tree itself is about 10ft high. I haven't seen any flowers in the two summers I have been here.

    Any clues? :cnfs:

    Floyd, I don`t think the first one IS Puschkinia, any chance of a photo of the leaves? The second plant is, I am fairly certain, Eriobotrya japonica.:gnthb:

    As the photo is, that is, without an image of the leaves, I would agree with a Lobelia.:gnthb::gnthb:

    thanks Daitheplant and Silver surfer - I think you've got them right away!

    I don't remeber planting Lobelia and I have several clumps around the garden...
    As for the Loquat - I have quite a monster in my garden so I hope it bears fruit one day!
