Hello sunshine p, that white thing is a wireless broadband router, although it doesnt have to be wireless. I got mine from aol i was on dial up connection to the internet then upgraded to broadband with aol. mine is sitting on top of the computer but i used the modem cables that came with it instead of going wireless. am i right?

Your wired connection to your PC Levoire will probably be faster than a wireless one. The wireless facility is handy if you have a laptop or a PC in another part of the house and don't want to run a cable.
Sunshine P - If it came through the post, presumably you ordered and paid for it. There should be instructions. However if you don't need a wireless connection and your existing modem is giving you a fast enough connection you are better staying hard-wired.
