sounds like either the server address you have put in for receiving emails in incorrect
or you have a box ticked that you shouldn't (for example have you ticked "log on using secure password authentication (SLA)" when you should have left it blank or viceversa)

It's not an easy one to answer without seeing it, it is just a case of elimination, try changing one setting at a time and seeing if it works, eventually you will find the problem (honest) [IMG]

I use AO(hel)L and their email handling is built in, I hate Outlook in any form and usually delete it as a waste of space, and an open door for spam and virus attacks, they do claim to have solved a lot of their problems but I'd as soon not take the risk.

    Cheers MIKE

Hi Woo, I have previously uninstalled it, but it is currently hiding away in the depths cos a few people insist on sending me stuff which needs it.
I have only 3 Icons on my desktop, Recycle bin, My Computer and My Network places, too much hassle to lose them. I work mainly from the task bar or MS Office Shortcut bar.
Anyway most of the time I am online so can't see the desk top.
I'm also resisting upgrading from Windoze 2000, wotcha mean Luddite [IMG]
    cheers MIKE

I had that problem with one of my email accounts. I found the best solution was to delete the account within OE and then just set it up again - it then worked fine and seemed to be just one of those odd things that happen now and then.

    Hope that helps.

    Take care

    Paul
