So how come it doesn't? I added an address to be blocked and STILL I get an Email from them!
Is there an Authority to whom I can complain about the continued sending of an unwanted Email despite frequent requests to the company not to send them? This is Virgin Wines by the way.

    Check "Tools"
    "Message rules"
Is it appearing on the "blocked senders list"?

Yes, but now discovered they change the Email address almost every time so blocking does not work, cos the address is slightly different, grrrrrrrrrr!

    Hi Pal,
i think you can create a message rule to stop all @virginwines.com (or what ever they use)from downloading from server. go to tools>message rules>mail>new then tick appropriate box ( 'from line contains' and 'delete from server'). then in bottom box, click on contains people which is highlighted in blue and add virginwines.com. then click apply. this should work i think.

Tis in the nature of spam! The crafty so-and-so's always make new e-mail addys to get around spam-blockers! Makes one wonder if they place an add in the sits vacant "Wanted: computer literate individual with imaginative mind to produce endless supply of inventive email addys! Must be brain-dead to boot"!

Small warning; most of these emails have a discreet form of read receipt which does not ask for your agreement. That way, opening it will let the firm know that your email address is stilll active and and will keep sending or even send more.

    Crafteeee!

One of the reasons I delete all e-mails unread, if I know the company, or don't know the sender. No great deal, but then as I have a numeric e-mail, I fortunately get very little in the way of spam - and I am very careful of web sites visited/ordered from.

I think this has got to be defeating the object. I make a point of never having anything to do with people who spam....they are a complete waste of organic matter. I am sure am not alone in this, it has to be one of the most annoying things about the Internet, I wish all spammers ere subject to untold misery.....
So why do they do it? If you want to sell something rule number 1 is don't annoy people.

Spammers wouldn't do it if they didn't find people guillable enough to respond/fall for it.

Same as a recent cheque scam. Advertise something for sale, and you get a call/e-mail that someone wants to buy. But what they want to do, is send you a cheque or money order for more than the amount - and want you having banked the cheque, to put the difference into their bank account. The cheque/money order is initially accepted by the bank, but later bounces.

Sadly there are always some people who fall for it.
