    :) Lovely pics.Caps.
Seems like a fabulous piece of kit and you certainly have got the hang of it very quickly.
It looks like you are going to be very happy together.....:).

Must also remember Dave that final shot was hand held! The Image stabilizer seems to work rather well

    Most impressive.
    How many pixils?
    Approx. what price?
Is there a built in wide angle?
Are there many attachments to invest in?
    Best of luck
    liamog.
my camera is a Canon G6-5 years old. I might be tempted to invest.

    Its 12.1MP
Paid £212 at Amazon ( Price varies depending on supplier)
    27mm wide-angle 18x optical zoom f/2.8-4.4 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens
Believe it or not there is a another lens that can be attached to increase zoom range.
Macro down to 1cm ! and then I can go a further x3 digital in macro mode.
At full pull the lens goes to x72 digital (Check out the aerial pictures)
Also has a rather good HD video mode as well..

I can maybe put together a little review of me experianace with it so far if theres enough interest.
Give you tour of the controls and modes.?

Out early this morning and caught this Birthday Hot air bag gently floating over.
Time for camera to show off the lens.
First picture is full wide angle.

This next is all the way past x16 optical and all the way up to X72 with the aid of digital zoom.
Image stabilizer on and hand held.

There was some mist about first thing so after putting the image into Photoshop and doing a bit of enhancing I came up with this image

    I`m impressed

It is rather good at what it does. I`m having no regrets buying it at all.
I shall have to try the old favorite moon shots soon.

Very sharp Robert, I am still wondering whether to upgrade my bridge camera (Pan fz7) for another or go for a DSLR, they both have pros and cons.

I had the same issues as well before I got this FZ38
Years ago I had a SLR with all the kit that went with it.
A huge tote bag crammed with stuff used to go everywhere with me.
Gets to be a burden, so the whole lot had to go.
But of course if you are serious about quality in your images then you need to go to full sensoe DSLR.
But, it seems the so called bridge cameras are rapidly catching up with DSLRs

I will have to try both out and see what suits me best although like you I don't want to go back to carrying a large bag of lenses with me.
