    Hi Paul.
With regard to the messages about computer doctor, it's a scam. You should have ignored the first pop-up. I suspect you've clicked on a pop-up that has installed something on your PC that gives you this message. I'd advise you to ensure that in future you've got decent virus, spyware and pop-up protection.
With regard to your email prob. have a look at this Microsoft advisory.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/257824/EN-US/

Without knowing more about your PC i.e. speed. RAM etc and if off-line processing is also slow it's difficult to know how to advise you. Some decent anti-virus/spyware should help. Though if push comes to shove you may be have to resort to reformatting your HDD and doing a complete re-installation.

Paul, you may also want to run Spyware Protection Programs like SpyBot Search And Destroy.

This program is great for the novice as well as the technical. Its free to use.......

    Spybot

Yes, I can recommend SpyBot though it does take a canny while to load. I also use AVG antivirus which is also free and had a 'best' rating by ComputerActive.

I update and run them regularly, SpyBot at least once a week.
