PeterS - Well only speaking from my personal experience of managing my father's bills etc., for him and having real problems trying to get their attention when things went wrong!

Most of his bills were paid by direct debit, which was handy because of his poor memory in his old age.

So when he died, I immediately cancelled all direct debits at his bank, and believe me you have their whole attention when you do that, within a few days I had a letter from all of them giving me a number and name of person to contact and all the relevent details of what they thought was outstanding. You are then in charge of the situation, but when those direct debits are running you are not!!! Just not bothering to do anything on their part is costing you money and so its in their favour.

Unfortunately Tiscali are renowned for these types of problems, I guess you pay for what you get. There are much better ISP's out there [IMG]

Rosa I have no idea whether tiscali are good bad or indifferent, but I doubt that they are responsible for your printer problems. At a guess I would suggest that the problem lies in the fact that a thorough uninstall was not done before trying to reload, either through CD or Via Xp recognition, which is often better.

Arun quite agree with you, was going to go with orange but with all these problems with tiscali better the devil you know so going back with bt never had any problems with them for over 1 year.

fran, my problems with tiscali are their broadband services being having me on a time switch and i asked for broadband anytime, to which the services i did not recieve these past 6 months.
the printer well i,ve tried unistalling it and reinstalling it to no avail, looks like its going to have to be deleted the hp and installed again, but i am frightened to do this, so when i change back to bt, having a comp.technician in and i will get him to do it as he will have to reconfigure my wireless adsl modem/router.

We had problems with Tiscali a couple of years ago charging us twice for accrued monthly payments. We put everything in writing to prove they were wrong. Next thing we new we were being chased by a third party debt collecting company and threatening us with bad credit ratings, quite intimidating. We sent them the same details proving Tiscalis incompetence and said they were loooking in to it. Six months later after contacting them to find out why no reply they said the matter had been closed (although no one could be bothered to tell us). We obviously felt we had been treated badly but let it go and joined Wanadoo(now orange and have so far had trouble free access). I wouldn't have Tiscali if they paid ME.!

Rosa.It is a pity you can't email all these post's that you have been writing on here to Otelo,to let them see how long these problems have been going on for.

Good luck.Looking forward to hearing from you with BT.

Yes, I had the experience of being ignored too. The poor customer service given by Tiscali was a major factor in Otelo granting me an award. I think you might like to take a look at the Otelo website and consider making a complaint about Tiscali. There's a lot of poor service about these days..why should we be happy to sit back and let those responsible get away with it?

hi jack, I have compained to otelo and they are going to get back to me within 7 days.
yes being ignored for days on end and still nothing done and they keep passing the buck from one to another none of them can deal with the matter to hand, so what are we supposed to do keep paying them every month for poor shoddy service, because that is what it amounts to at the end of the day.
