Lost all sound

I think I lost my sound when I was in control panel and decided to un-install some programs. Please could you tell me what programs should be in the add or remove programs panel to get sound?
I dont have the sound icon in the bottom right of desktop anymore :-(

sounds like you uninstalled the music drivers and program for you soundcard...

what computer is it you have? Make and model.

 

Yes, thats probably what I've done.
Its an AMD Athlon XP 2600 + 1.91 GHz 518MB of RAM.

the info doesn't really help me.......i need the make and model of the computer......if it was custom built then i presume you have a disk with the drivers on it.

Yes it was custom built, I do have discs, will have to visit the loft to try to find them! Thanks for your help and pointing me in the right direction.
