I recently treated myself to a laptop but I'm experiencing odd things with the cursor which occasionally carries on moving across the screen even when I've taken my finger off the touchpad though rarely more than a couple of inches as a rule. It also activate buttons when I haven't clicked, usually when I'm just passing over them. This has been an embarassment on anothe forum I mod when I'm sending a warning note to a member and it sends the pm before I've finished the message! Sort of cuts down on one's credibility!!

    Any ideas what's going on?

michael.....there are 2 options for you mate.

1st go to windows update and update your hardware, see if there is an update for the touch pad.....if this fails you will need to check the mouse pad settings either on the task bar, bottom right, or go into control panel and edit the mouse settings from there.

if still having problems give me a shout.

I had exactly that problem about 2 years ago on my Dell, and they ran diagnostics over the internet and sent a courier to replace my keyboard. About a year later it started again and they told me to just disable the joystick facility in the middle of the keyboard (don't use that anyway) and that cured it!

Drives you mad because its so hard to navigate! ;)
