I bought a kids kit from b&q in the sale to grow dwarf beans complete with (apparently) right size pot and compost. It said they would only grow to 12 inches on top and they've already started to exceed that but now their roots are hanging out the bottom of the pot about 8-10 inches.

I'm a bit worried about these exposed roots. What do I do? Can I repot them or will this damage them? The pot I'm using is already quite big (about 12-15 inches deep) so how big should I go?

    Thank you!

I think you need to do something, its not good having the roots showing like that. You will probably damage the roots by re-potting, an alternative is to put your pot inside a larger one and pack compost inbetween.

As John says. Then go to a proper nursery next time & stop letting these big business
cut into a market that they have no right to be in.

Ziggy that's all well and good but for £2 I bought the whole kit and as a beginner I'd rather test it out cheaply than spend a fortune on something a) I'm not sure what to do with or b)not sure I'll enjoy and continue doing.

We can't all afford extortionate prices to set up something that may turn into a hobby or may fall by the wayside.
