Not sure where to put this one so I started a new topic on galls. This is Robin's Pincushion and it is found on wild roses. A Gall Wasp lays her eggs in rose buds and this many chambered gall forms. The grubs hatch and feed and emerge the following spring. They are mostly female and lay their own eggs in flower buds without mating. There are other wasps that lay their eggs in the gall and their grubs eat the Gall Wasps grubs.
