    Hi everyone
Just to let you know that we have made the decision to have our nearly 15 year old dog Tina put to sleep this teatime.

It took us a long time to come to the decision, but after a long talk with the lady Vet decided it was in her best interest.

As you know from my previous posts on here, that her quality of life had got to the stage, where it would have been cruel and against our principles,to let her suffer any longer.

The Vet said that the Arthritis that had affected her back legs would probably only give her another couple of weeks of life with strong medication and we would have been back to the Surgery to face the pain again.

Mr Kandy and I both had a few minutes to be alone with her,and to say our goodbyes.

When the time came she was gently lifted onto the table by the Vet and a Vetenary nurse.
We all stood stroking, and talking to her, while a piece of fur was shaved from her leg.The injection was then given, while we all still stroked and petted her.She just went to sleep. That was it,so quick and pain free.No longer will she be in any more pain.

She is going to be cremated and given back to us in a casket,so if we wish we can bury her in the garden at home.

I cannot thank the staff enough at the Surgery for their kindness and compassion at this time.

I know that eventually these tears will subside, and we will remember the joy that our little "Teeny Weeny" gave us over the last 15 years.

GoodBye our faithful friend, until we meet again over the Rainbow Bridge.... [IMG]

    Thankyou

Our thoughts are with you Kandy, and Mr Kandy!

We have been down that road and know exactly how you feel. The pain eases eventually and the good memories will be there forever.

I don't know that we've seen Tina ... perhaps you can post a picture in her memory.

    RIP Tina! [IMG]

Sorry to hear that Kandy, we have been down that road too, our dog Sam had exactly the same circumstances and the same reasons and what made it worse for us was that it was on the same day as Diana's funeral!

You did the right thing Kandy, its not easy, but its a very lucky pet owner that doesn't at some stage have to make such a decision.
15 yrs is a good long life for a dog, you must have looked after her well over the years.
Its sad but she had a good life.

Sorry to hear about your loss: one can see how kind your Teeny Weeny was, from the picture.
It is comforting to know, though, that she will be buried in your garden: so you can grow a plant or lay a flower on her grave from time to time.
I am sure that you also have many nice memories together.

    all the best
