    Hi Everyone,

I am a new member, and live in Wales.
I don't have a very large garden, most of my plants and tree's are in pots, I have lots of acers.
But this year I have found a special plant, a Brugmansia, it has the most wonderfull flowers, and I am getting very much addicted to growing this plant. But as I am a novice in it any advise, on growing them will always be welcome. [IMG]

    greeting to Wales [IMG]

Is Brugmansias the same as Daturas? If it is I just have to give up mine because it is tender plant and it grows too big for my conservatry :(

welcome to gc, Wales, I love Daturas as well, (yes they are Brugmansia's) and you'll get loads of care info from this bunch. I'm hoping to get one or two for the summer, but they'll be in pots

Hi Wales. Welcome to GC. Brugs and daturas are very close to each other and were once classed as the same. But you know what the scientists are and they now class them as 2 different families. Walnut is the expert on this and he usually comes on early morning and will no doubt tell you exactly what the difference is. They certainly have a similar look and apart from the fact that a datura is treated as an annual and a brug as a perrenial (and can grow much bigger) I think I'd better leave it to him. :D

Hi Wales and welcome. Now that wouldn't be the Wales near Sheffield would it? I went there once years ago. [IMG] I'm in North Wales, near Mold enjoying, at the moment, high winds and freezing cold rain. :(

Hi Wales made it at last, as John says Brugs and Dats were reclasified and are different beasts and as Roders says in the main Brugs hang their flowers down Daturas point them up. ;)

Hi Wales welcome to our friendly forum I'm sure you'll fit in just great! [IMG]

How very strange Terrier 'Wales' near Sheffield is only a couple of villages away from me and to make things even more freaky is that my husband's grand father and grand mother both came from Mold in Wales...we took Bob's mum back for a visit a few years back and she was amazed of the changes there.

    Hi Helen

Pembrokeshire is growing very fast, I just live outside Haverfordwest, and that is growing bigger and bigger all the time, and still it isn't spoiling the feel of the place.
