Hello all, I've been meaning to look for an online gardening site for ages and only just got 'round to it. I had a search for gardening forums last night and thought this one looked friendly enough, so I've been browsing around to get the hang of it. This is my second attempt at creating a topic as the last one disappeared without trace. I you'st to enjoy growing non edibles some years ago but sort of got out the habit. A couple of years ago I started GYO veg with quite satisfactory results and that has got my fingers itching to get back to flower gardening. I'm sans greenhouse at the moment so it's a little bit difficult starting young plants, seedlings, etc. but I hope to rectify that shortly.
I live in North Wales, not best placed for the lions share of warm weather (esp. after the last two cold, wet summers)but there is a fairly even growing climate with (cleanish)rain imported straight from the North Atlantic.
OK, off for a furtle, CHEERS.

Hi Terrier. Yup. Most people here are friendly, they don't stay long if they're not. :D I am also without a greenhouse (till spring) but it is quite easy. Simply fall out with the wife or partner and fill the kitchen with plants. Who needs food?

    Welcome to GC anyway. [IMG]

Thanks for the welcome everyone.Seems to be a lot of Welshies here. The Welsh side of my family are from the 'valleys' and so is TOH, in fact both families lived in adjacent villages. Small world,eh!
Accidentalgardner, you might guess we have terriers. Welsh Terriers! Little bundles of black and tan dynamite. I'll use one of their pics for my avitar if I can figure how to do it.

More of us than your know, terrier. My big Sis (Kedi-Gato from Germany) and my cousin (davris from UK) are also from the valleys ... as are other people I won't mention. [IMG]

Just for what it's worth, I'm from Pontypridd, South Glamorgan, and proud of it although I left a long time ago.

LOL, when we moved out to North Wales, one of the first people I met was the local Dairyman who asked what part of Wales my wife was from, I told him South Wales."Oh dear" he said, "South! Mind you MY wife is a South Walian...and she's not so bad"

terrier ... we aren't so bad ... :D I left in 1950 (telling my age here) to go to Canada and still vividly remember it (but I did go back in the late 70s). Will always be home for me.

Hello there Terrier as you can see you have picked the right forum as this one is full of nice friendly people although some of us are quite mad but that's what happens when you try to have green fingers! :D

Bob's grandfather is from north Wales up in Mold in fact we go back every few years and boy is it changing but sadly not for the better.

I'm sure you're lost without a greenhouse but as John says you can always take over your house with your plants! :D

Enjoy every moment spent on here.
