    Hi All,

Another newbie to the forum... but not a newbie to forums in general, so expect a lot of wittering from the cheap seats in future ;) Probably later on today in fact. I've read quite a few topics already so it'll be Thread Resurrection time I'm afraid! I am relatively new to gardening, a couple of years "playing" with gf's mum's garden, mainly tidying really, then the last 2 yrs attempting my own.

I have a postage stamp front of 25' x 15' and a rear that is probably 30' x 60'. I have the luxury of good soil thanks to the previous owner, and some established shrubs and trees. Unfortunately the garden had been let go for a few years before I bought the place, so many of those plants have to be moved from the "established" category to the "in need of severe cutting back or removal" slot. However, I'm on top of most of it thanks to a couple of months off work this year.

I was also left a greenhouse with heated propagator, and a lean-to which I used for overwintering last year. I tried raising from seed for the first time this spring, and didn't expect the 80+% success rate, so many seedlings were moved to the lean-to as soon as they were potted up. Fortunately I've been remiss in planting out, otherwise everything would have been lost to the 3-5" clean floodwater (garden only) last Friday. (Poppies and cornflowers were lost).

I do have a few problems so it's nice to have found a forum that I can turn to. As I say, expect much yak from me, so feel free to ignore and correct as you see fit!

    OB.

Hello Oogie Boogie and a hot welcome from me! :D

I probably can't help you with your English Country Garden as I left it a long time ago and now have different interests, but there are many people here who will be more than delighted to assist you if need be.

I see you're obviously a car fan as well. [IMG]

    Enjoy the forum!

Hello OogieBoogie and welcome from me, another newbie.

Where on earth did you "dig up" your name?? I am always fascinated by peoples' usernames - mine is so boring - it's my name - I wish I had thought of something terribly interesting like the rest of you.

I decided to change my username on a football site when I reached 1000 posts. I was rushing to post a reply so didn't have that much time to think about it, and happened to be watching Nightmare Before Xmas at the time. It's grown on me and now I take it wherever I go [IMG]

Ola, Oogie Boogie (I'm learning Portuguese and Italian, sort of...).
A warm welcome to GC and hope you enjoy the "company". Lots of great Ladies and Gents on here and as much help as you would possibly need with regards your garden!
    Kindest regards!
