Hi all, have a pergola covered in a Russian Vine (mile a minute) it is growing at a vast rate :flag: in all this sun, has to be trimmed every week, so have decided to remove it. My question is what can I replace it with that covers quickly and flowers, it's in full sun facing south although the base of the plant is shaded, the area to cover is 12' x 8'. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks for your time. :gnthb:

Thanks for your reply Andrew is anyone quicker growing than the other, as without cover the Pergola is an eyesore, although it's solid it's old and tatty, so a fast grower required. Thanks.

Jasmine and Clematis Montana are both quick growing, but will still take a few months to get going. Is Russian Vine evergreen, as most climbers lose their leaves in winter, so the pergola will become visible then.

Jasmine isn`t a climber so will not do the job. Go with C. montana, perfect for the task you have in mind.:gnthb:
