A Couple of Anons

Any ideas ? The first is about 90-100cm tall, darker green to reddesih stems. Second is about 100-100cm tall and slender stems with lots of very small white flowerlets. Thanks in advance.

Anyone recognise this beaut of a Bamboo ?



Nodes were pure white with mauve brown bands fading to green running up the culms.

 

Oh I recognise that white flower only too well. I am sorry but I don't know what it's called. It's a real thug. Spreads everywhere and chokes everything. It took me two or three years with glyphosate to get rid of it.

 

I think the first could be a type of Golden Rod, the second and third a member of the Chrysanthemum family?:gnthb:

 

A type of Feverfew?

 

First couldn't be a willow herb could it Dai ? I was just thinking about the lanceolate leaves, not sure though.

 

Or a variety of Lythrum - the leaves can look very similar to Willowherb?

Yep I think that is the one. I'll keep searching.

 

Lythrum wings a bell but the leaves are slightly different from what I remember.

 

For the second and third photo, could it be Achillea Ptarmica? I have this in my garden and it spreads like mad but I like it.

 

Yes I am sure you are right Lintama with Achillea ptarmica. I have never grown it myself, but it fits the description and picture.

 

The second one with small white flowers looks like something I have in my garden I know it as Grandpas buttons, is Achillea ptarmica its latin name.
