Seedlings

I'm new to gardening and love it!! I have planted lots of bought flowers this year and gathered seeds from some of them, but don't know how to propogate them. Any help would be appreciated, perhaps there is a good book on raising plants from seed?

I have Bluebell seeds (my favourite), Acqualegia, Foxglove, Pansies, Snapdragons, one I'm not sure of, and Love in a Mist (my favourite as well).
I know that bluebells usually come from bulbs, and the unknown plant did too, so perhaps I should sow the seeds for these now so that they will have time to form a bulb???

Bluebell, Aquilegia, Foxglove, plant now - sow on the surface of a damp seed compost. Keep moist and in a light place, but out of direct sun.

The others, put in an envelope in a cool place for next year. The pansies are likely to be F1 hybrids, and are unlikely to come true from seed and possibly the snapdragons too.

Thanks for advice on bluebells, Acquilegia and Foxglove. You say plant now, I assume I would overwinter them inside and plant them out perhaps March/April?

 

Nope, plant them as soon as they are big enough to plant outside, ensuring the soil is moist. All three are hardy and will be fine over winter.
