Down at my local florists they have some very sweet roses going fairly cheap. I was just wondering if they're worth getting?
Do they look better with certain other plants?
Wheres the best place to put them?
Whats the life expectancy (i.e. being eaten by creatures, winter etc) of these little roses?
    And whats the maintenance like?

    All thoughts welcome [IMG]

By little roses - do you mean the kind normally sold as indoor roses. If so, I wouldn't grow them - I tried once to see how they did, and they didn't - though one struggled on for a few years.

If you want to grow small roses - look for the ones described as patio roses - but watch carefully for desease resistant ones, - black spot can turn a small rose into a handful of stalks with flowers on the end - not attractive.

Hmmm...sound like more trouble than they're worth - for either! I think I'll pass. Thank you [IMG]

Tried to grow the mini roses in the past and I didn't have much luck at all with them, they looked so nice when I brought them but died a quick death....I've never tried them since and that was years ago!
But I do wish you luck if you try to take them on! [IMG]

Re miniature roses bought a dozen in Lidls, couple of months ago when I got them home intending to plant them in my big tubs instead of winter flowering pansies that never do ! there were four plants in each pot ! what a suprise so planted them close together grouping the same colours, well what a show I had and they like the pots as they have shot up a good 6ins in that short time what I shall do with 48 little rose trees next year I really don't know but they were cetainly good value for money
