First roses

    Found my first rose in flower today - and not my yellow climber which has not fully opened.. BTW Hornbeam your rose flower is exactly the same as my climbing yellow - prolly relateed.

    Rose de la Hay. A friend of mine grew it from a cutting and gave it to me some years back, it now stands over 6 foot - and extends over 6 foot of the fence as well. Smashing rose.

    I do like that! Lovely crushed velvet claret coloured old fashioned shape. Good perfume too?

    Bog Standard supermarket Golden Showers has been out for two weeks now. Note the lack of the lush foliage as opposed to the David Austin Plants.
    You get what you pay for....still it smells nice!
