I have a plant that looks like a small Yucca plant but the roots are going mad and are coming out the bottom of the pot and the top. Is there anything I an do to stop this or should I just get a bigger pot?

Sprout. I think the roots are trying to tell you to get a bigger pot.

    Thanks for the reply.
Can I not trim the roots to keep it the size it is? If I put it in a bigger pot won't it need repotting again in a few years?

 I wouldn't trim the roots Sprout, as you stand a good chance of harming the plant & if you leave it in the same size pot it will eventually die.. Plants grow Sprout & to keep them healthy you have to re-pot up a size or so every few years if you want to keep them..!!:D

Pesky plants and their 'growing'. Guess I'll have to live with a tree at some point! :D

I trimmed the roots of my Basil plant recently as they were getting ridiculously long and I couldn't face repotting again. It is ok, but still needs repotting. Perhaps I will end up with a Basil tree!
