Hi. Several tall plants have arrived in my garden unexpectedly. I see them in variou sgardens, usually semi-wild ones (though have never seen this plant actually in the wild as I recall.)

They are single stemmed, each stem being about 2ft high. The leaves are opposite, like thin pines or knives, and the purple flowers are lipped. The flowers begin near the top of the stem, thinning out higher up to leave a bare top, but with what look like budding flowers emerging.

It is not willowherb, verbena stricta or Veronica spicata.

    Thanks.

Not sure but I get the feeling it might be Linaria purpurea

If they have very thin stems and very small flowers, maybe purple toadflax.

I'll put up a photo if I can. I'm not very good with cameras, uploads, or technology in general.

Linaria purpurea / purple toadlfax was what I though as well, but every picture I have seen looks different. The flowers on my plants are definitely lobed.
