In our outside loo (I must stress that we also have indoor loos) there is a population of snails that insist on eating the toilet paper!
There are always snail-bite corrugations on the roll, and even worse - toilet paper snail poo's!

My puppy has developed a likeness for snails... shame I am having to discourage him for his own good .. might have been an answer to my snail problem.

Talking about dogs and things wrapped in a shell - I have always fancied a tortoise but have had to resist due to images of the dogs
    a) throwing it around the garden like a ball, and
    b) trying to dig it out of the shell.
    Nooooooo......

A dozen plump snails in the Burgundian sauce of butter, garlic and parsley !! yummy !!

Snails that are eaten in France are not all gathered from the wild, although a lot are...Some are bred on one of Franceââ?¬â?¢s 200 snail farms. The ââ?¬Ë?breedââ?¬â?¢ of snail is the Gros Gris, which originates in North Africa, their bodies around 3 inches long. Their cousins, the Petit Gris or garden snail, are the wild, native snails which are gathered and eaten here.
    Bon Appetit !!

I think it's the garlic and butter which taste nice- Found the snail bit just vaguely chewy.
My eldest shelty used to eat snails when she was a puppy, horrid crunching noise. She soon gave it up without any help from me. I couldn't see that they would do her any harm!
My sister and brother in law have a tortoise and 2 cavaliers. The cavaliers do follow the tortoise round but only to steal her food or [horrors] eat tortoise poo... they are useful if she goes off into the undergrowth, they always know where she is.

I think i would probably eat snails in a restaurant but never in the hills again the wild ones.
Would of thought puppies eating too many of them it would probably make them sick like me in Spain

I watched Globe Trekker today as usual and it was in Northern France where they are fond of snails, strangely enough. The GT went into a snail shop (can you imagine, a snail shop?) to try out the delicacies! yuk  [IMG]

She, the GT, then commented to the lady of the shop that she had very nice skin for her age ... and guess why this is?????? She sticks HUGE snails, in their houses, on her face as the sticky substance (apparently used by big name - they couldn't say who - cosmetic companies in face tightening potions) instantly firms the skin! The GT then stuck two HUGE snails on her face, one of each temple, and they were poking their heads out looking around with their antenna out! When I say HUGE, they must have been two inches long out of their houses!

Now, I know Rosa will want to be the first to experiment with the easy-accessible and free cosmetic surgery and give her us report and opinion!

And here's another one I read about years ago ... top models use Preparation H under their eyes at bedtime before a big shoot the next day as it removes "bags" overnight! :D :D :D

I am SO pleased, Rosa. I knew you were the experimental type! We look forward to your verdict! :D

By the way, I have done the Prep H thing and it does work ... ponks a bit ... but my theory was that if it can shrink haemarroids, then it can tighten under-eye skin! It's something to do with the whale oil in it!
