Top Soil

    Thanks all. We were over this weekend. My son got three cubic metres. It was fine for laying a lawn. I reckoned he could have done with more but it was pricey including the turf of which he ordered too much.........naturally :hehe: he had spent a couple of weeks putting up the fence and the garden shed.

    To be honest I don't think it was a question of height but of more soil IYKWIM. The soil is like powder.Could have done with some compost dug in. I couldn't believe the difference between his and mine. I have clay soil and to be honest I think it is the better of the two. I did say when he comes to dig his flower beds he needs to put some organic material in to help water retention. I told him about mushroom compost being cheap and cheerful. :)
