Wildflower Meadow

    Can anyone point me in the direction of simple, how to, instructions on converted a lawn to a wildflower meadow? It would have to be sown in September - or at least not the spring - as the huge numbers of rabbits will eat all the wildflowers.

    look here as well linlin, i visited a few years ago and found it a very informative place. not a huge place but worth it if your local or want to combine it with something else as a day trip.

    You can buy mixtures of seeds to suit your area. Here's more advice:

    Great idea! I've got a little shady bit that I'm waiting for help in digging over [lots of rubble] Then I hope to do something like it but in shade.
    I did it by accident when I was unable to garden one year. By the time my daughters came back from college the grass and flowers were knee high, it looked very pretty and I really missed it.

    Thanks for those links. The centre is too far for me - I'm on the south coast. The seed mixtures are good, but I'm hoping to collect enough seed for scatter sowing and will use bought seed for plug planting.
