having rapidly realised that these are useless to grow strawberries... i have a strawberry pot free and would like to plant herbs in it.

i have most of the usual suspects (rosemary, oregano, thyme, mint, sage, chives) in other pots, so has anyone got any suggestions for some more unusual herbs that have culinary value and will enjoy being in the confined space?

also, any suggestions for what to put on the shady side of the pot?

    Hello, chan!

I have two strawberry pots here. In one I have an orange Bougainvillea to grow over our bread oven and put Allysum in the "sticky out" bits.

Strangely enough, I have stawberries in the other and they bloom and fruit year round but must admit they are miniature strawberries but very sweet and delicious.

Vervain isnt really suitable for a pot go to this link and take a look at the collections they have on offer..you could have a medicinal herb pot which would be attractive and usefull..
