This week we have applied feed and weed to the lawn and returfed area which was recently damaged by builders cement mixer etc.
we have also cut and straightened all the edges which are damaged every year with the lawnmower,(The other half is not the most sympathetic of grass cutters) and runs wheels right over the edge of the grass. We need a new lawnmower for a small lawn. Our present one is an electic qualcast
but blades are blunt and it is past its best.(Lack of servicing) We are both in our 70's and hubby is not as fit as he used to be.
Could anyone recommend a suitable lawnmower, not too heavy. to keep our grass looking nice, once it recovers from its recent upheaval

Flymos don't have wheels and are light and easy to manoeuvre - so I'd suggest that would be your best bet, Larburnum. Only drawback is you don't get nice straight lines.....

Yes I agree, I use a flymo, the hover vac, they are easy to get the plastic blades for them too. [IMG]

For me - I have an old black and decker rotary for wet and long grass, and a newer black and decker rotary with roller for stripes and grass removal. Both are light and easy to us - and manage my weedy lawn fine.

Many Thanks everyone, I am now off to the Easter sales in Homebase etc where there appears to be lots of bargains.
