    Thanks for the compliment but the idea is 'open source' for anyone that wants to make their own. Consider it my contribution to helping aleviate 'gardener's back'. Just don't overfill the bin - it gets heavy before you realise it! :D

    DIY help, maybe? That chain looks like a hanging basket chain- lots of people have spares of these. If you haven't any strong wire for hooks thread a piece of softer wire or string through hanging basket fastenings or links and fix under rim of bucket with a few twists or knot. Don't even need pliers then! [​IMG]

    I was wondering about using those too, Liz - but wasn't sure they'd be strong enough, although, hanging baskets are pretty heavy things, aren't they? So it should work, so long as it's fixed securely enough to the rim of the bucket. I'm certainly going to try it out! ;)

    what i want is something that does the job without me having to use any effort, i was going to invent a kinda treadle operated thingy .....
    so s i could eat my lunch while compost was created

    great idea frogs, and i could use it for mixing compost,and/or cement, and that kindo of half cement half peat stuff you make troughs out of
