And why I don't like them  Give me well tempered carbon steel any day!

Bought from Focus on 19th Feb, today was only the second time I used it. Focus were brilliant and gave a full refund this evening (nearly £20!) but to say I'm less than impressed with Wilkinson would be an understatement. I shall be giving them a bit of earache later on!

Supprised it snapped, mine just bent, then I got a replacement and that bent aswell.
Mine wasn't wilkinson (cant go out to the shed and look now), but its useless, stainless steel for tools is highly overated.

Yep, I should have known better but I'd broken the ash shaft of my large Bulldog fork and couldn't get a replacement (funny that, no one seems to repair anything these days). I had a weak moment.

It snapped when it got under a stone and went without warning, no bending at all just a loud 'ping', I could lean on the old fork and the tines would just spring.

I'm afraid these days people are taken in by a nice shiney tool and think it must be good, thats what makes them sell.
And thats all that seems to matter.
How many TV gardeners have you heard telling us how good they are.

The best ones are usually the ones that are all one piece, with wooden shaft. The best border forks and spades I've had are Draper. The tines in the forks don't get so easily mangled as (e.g) the B+ Q ones. Quite agree, TLG, re the edgers from B+Q - bend almost as soon as you put them in the grass!! No use at all, and they hgave rivets!! - Have fixed them with bolts, to keep as emergency spares, as do a lot of edging.

Maybe we should have a new forum on tools?? Brings out strong feelings. obviously! [IMG]
