    Evening all

Does anyone know if these trees are suitable for planting in a container?

    Hi mowgley

You can keep the tree containerised, although you may want to pot it on a few times into a bigger pot to make it achieve some sort of status. Don't keep it small. Remember that it won't be able to receive as many soil macronutrients, micronutrients and soil moisture so you will have to keep it well fed and watered. Try looking for some long term, slow release tree fertiliser - it's not common and the jury's still out on whether the benefits work or not, but I've had a pot grown rowan with a slow release fertiliser spike for over a year now and it's doing really well.

You would probably have to root prune every few years as you pot it on and add some fresh compost :)
