These are the berrys that have formed now, they change to a blackcurrent coulor later in the year.
Sorry about the poor quality of photoes as I am only diddy.

Hi, it's a little hard to see the tree but the colours remind me of eucalyptus, do the leaves smell? I'm probably miles out though :D

Celia, I`m inclined to agree with you, the colour of the bark makes it look like Eucalyptus. Possibly E. gunii. Mef, is the bark flaky? David.

I think we really need a clearer picture, mef.
I see where the eucalyptus theory comes from in the first picture, but in the second the leaves appear to have very prominent veins, and what about the blackcurrant coloured fruits/berries.

I disagree Celia and daitheplant. I have Eucalyptus all around me (well, I tell I lie, I have orange trees, but what I mean is nearby) and I don't recall these pink blobs but it could be the flower buds as the leaves look sort of right.

I'll come up for air now.

Agree with whis4ey ... come on, mef, stop teasing as some of us have failing eyesight with age let alone being presented with blurred pictures ...

Ive took a piece down but close ups seem to go blared when i reduce them for message board.

    there is no smell
    the bark is not flaky
Also this is no wind up.
my next door neighbout bought it from a car boot in the hope it was a fruit tree.

These are the berries, they are very hard at the moment and later in the year they turn to a blackcurrent coulor

Why are you reducing them so much, mef? We will now need magnifying glasses, sweetheart.

What programme are you using for photos? Maybe one of us can help ... [IMG]

I don't think it looks like a eucalyptus at all. Sis, I agree with pete about the leaves being wrong, as the eucalyptus has smooth leaves.

No, Sis, I wasn't saying I thought they looked like Eucs ... the blurry pics made the leaves look roundish. Gosh, I have enough of them around me to recognise them ... I would think!
