I saw that in somebodys garden around the corner from me and I liked it. I don't mind having to cut them back every year.
    Thanks

I've a conifer hedge 10ft tall on one side of my back garden,I planted them 22 yrs ago when I moved in cos a fence was too expensive and the leylandi only cost a £1 each, I planted 24. It gets a trim once a year and looks good, it wont grow any higher cos the tops have been chopped off years ago when they reached the height I wanted. They now protect my garden and thats why I have so many tropicals that can be left outside all winter, I'm also south facing. :D

Hi penguin, a good hedging conifer is Thuja plicata atrovirens the Western Red Cedar. It is slower growing than Leylandii, has aromatic foliage, is more compact than Leylandii and will regrow if any foliage dies off. David.
