    hi guys

i havea conifer that stands around 6 ft tall, i trimmed it yesterday to a more managable size, about 5 foot and shaped the sides

at the base on one side a small section appears to have died

    can i stop/revive this part?

If it's only a small, dead bit, I'd be tempted to cut it out.

cat damage would be most likely as there is a cat who keeps pooping in my flower beds

how has the cat damaged it and what should i do to help it out a bit, it is a small area but it kinda makes the tree look a little hollow on one side at the base

the browning is right at the bottom of the tree

Check to see if there is any scratch damage to the trunk or branch- might be difficult to see on conifer bark. This is one way a cat could damage it.
If it was accessible to dogs I wouldhave suggested a male dog peeing on it.

a cat might have pissed on it, its in my back garden so unlikely to be a dog

so can i fix it or am i just going to have to make do with a bare patch of tree?

most conifers do not regrow though a few do - so I would go with the previous advise and just cut out the dead stuff.
