Japanese acer

I have a red japanese acer, new last year. It is now opening it's leaves and some are opening green. Can anyone tell me why?

 

Possibly because it is in shade? Some Japanese Maples will show green tendencies if they are not in full sun
Have you a photograph or can you provide more details?

 

Shade is a good possibility, also some cultivars new growth is different then the color of the leaves during the season.

 

Sorry to but in,but,is this a japaneae Acer?i was given it, and i put it in a big pot and the buds are beginning to open.

That is not a Japanese maple
You might be able to name it when it leafs out fully

 

i knew it was too good to be true...

 

looks like laurel to me, im proberbly wrong but the leaves and stem look the same as the one i have outside
