Fallen branches

New to all this so ........
Question for someone: Branches snapped off a heavily laden plum tree in the storms last night (yes, we had some here!!). Now i have lbs of loose plums and those still attached to the broken branches but all very green. How do i ripen them, save them, etc. Is it possible?

I believe the method is to place the fruit in a paper bag in a dry place out of direct sunlight and at room temperature. To quicken the process, supposedly placing an apple or banana inside the bag will assist, but you must be sure to check the bag daily so as not to over-ripen the fruit When the fruit yields to soft pressure, it is ripe and can be placed in the refrigerator.

 

Thank you so much - i will give it a try and let you know. Wasn't sure whether to keep them in the sunshine or not (like ripening tomatoes).
I will try the paper bag method!!
