    perhaps a red one and white one could be trained together to get a living maypole!

    What a lovely thread this is, all those beautiful photos. I love the scent of may blossom as well and last year planted a row which I hope will form a lovely hedge for the birds in a few years.

    I have a 20 footer in my garden in blossom now. I can smell it all over the garden.

    Slightly off topic, but has anyone seen a horse chestnut flower close up. It is an amazing thing. Must find a tree with them low enough to the ground to take a close up.

    Fantastic flowers close up and magnificent on a mature tree. The red variety never grow so large as the white. Introduced into Britain in 1616 from Albania, N. Greece and Macedonia.
