I have 2 flowering cherry trees in my garden both about 50 years old. Last year one of the branches on one appeared dead so I cut it down. This year yet more are dead and the blossom on the remaining appears to simply die. The other tree is perfect. Can anyone throw any light on my problem please?
I have loaded pictures to a webpage:

    Thank you

Any signs of honey fungus? Look for black bootlaces in the soil round your tree and also for any mycellum under bark. You may also notice a very distinct mushroom type odour in the ground.

Thank you "frogesque" I will look tomorrow (hopefully a dry day) & let you know. I also noticed another flowering cherry about 100 yds away the same as mine. One perfect & the other dying.
