    Hi all,
I've been overhauling my back yard, and would like some advice...
The yard originally was quite steeply sloped, but we've levelled it off by putting decking in at the top wtith steps down to a flagged area with seating etc and then steps down to a 'working area'. Consequently, the walls on either side vary in height from being about 6' at the bottom to about 3' near the top.
To increase the privacy I'd like to attach window boxes / trough planters onto the tops of the walls.
Does anybody have any ideas of how I'd attach them to the walls? I've seen some garden wall brackets on Amazon:
garden wall brackets for securing a planter or window box on top of a wall - set of 2 - made of metal with zinc and epoxy coating: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
but they are out of stock and I've not seen anything similar anywhere else.
    Any ideas?

Hya RuffledFeathers, maybe not exactly but a basic idea I just thought of that may work?

Another basic concept using tanalised roofing lats and the traditional plastic troughs you can buy???????

    Thanks Karl,
A good idea, but as my DIY skills are non-existent, I was hoping for something off-the-shelf. I'll see if my father-in-law can have a go at making some...

You could just drill through the bottom of the planters and screw them to the top of the wall? Buy some big washers so the screw head cant pop through the hole if they are plastic.

Make sure you buy stainless steel ones though otherwise they will be a nightmare if you want to remove them. You'll also have to put some plugs into the brick/concrete for the screw to bite into.

I had thought about that - but as the neighbours 'own' one of the walls, I dont want to drill into it if it can be avoided.

    Thanks again Karl,
I'd seen the types that hang off the tops of walls but I don't think the hooks would be wide enough to go over the top of the bricks...
I might have a go at making your second suggestion, with the roofing laths. How would you bond them? I was thinking of PVA glue...
