    Hello all [IMG]
We moved into our new place in October 2006 and the garden was very overgrown with nettles and brambles and not a flower or plant in sight :(
    [IMG]

Anyway 3 months on now , we have bought loads of plants and seeds; Would anyone know what that tall plant is amongst the nettles please [IMG] Its a shame that I can't get rid of the concrete post, but hopefully the honeysucke will cover it in time.I will be posting up pictures of the front garden soon and what we hhave done to it regarding fencing from the road.Listed below are the seed and plants we used so far:

    Wildflower seed
Evening primrose, which I took from the front garden.
    Primrose
    Winter Jasmine
    Bay laurel
    Honeysuckle
    Viburnum tinus
    Winter pansies
    Herbs
    and a few more

The garden is still a bit upside down and I took the last picture after the gale force winds from the 18th.I will take more pictures soon once the weather has calmed down lol.Still loads to do in the garden and I can't wait till Spring to see it all come alive [IMG]

Looking good already Jane. It's very satisfying knocking an overgrown garden into shape, but you really need to live with it for a year before you get a true idea of what it's going to look like.
My guess regarding the tall plant is a lilac, though rather difficult to tell from the photos. You'll know in a couple of months though!

Hope you continue to enjoy developing it over this next year and look forward to seeing the photos.

What a difference! Will be great fun watching your garden come to life in the spring - your springer looks happy with it too - whats his name? [IMG]

Hello Jane. The shrub might be a Philadelphus. Whatever it is,I notice it's been cut back to stop it getting tangled with the clothes on the line! :D
Couldn't you fit a Rotary line and get rid of the posts?...BTW..Nice location you're at [IMG]

I do think a Montana might be a bit vigorous for a single post Jane. I have three different ones and they are at least twenty feet long and still growing. I have a picture in my Profile.

As a start you could pop in some Morning Glory until your Clem's establish. I have hundreds of seeds if you want some . [IMG] Do you go to Toddington G Centre for your plants or do you find them expensive there?

Oh yes.some Morning Glory seeds would be great [IMG] I'm not sure if it's Teddington or Toddington garden center that I visit but I tend to use Gotherington garden center and Tewkesbury more .I find Tewkesbury a bit expensive but they are very helpful there.
