    Hello all,

My mum mentioned that she read that sweet peas should be sown now - in pots and kept in greenhouse etc. I sowed mine last weekend and all of them have shoots showing (they are in the mini-greenhouse). Will they be okay until Spring? Should they have germinated already?

    thanks ;)

Sweet Pea, Lathyrus, are usually sown mid autumn or late winter. Best germianting temperature 10 to 15deg C. Germination should be within 2 weeks.

When large enough to handle transplant seedlings individually to 8cm (3inch) pots filled with ordinary potting compost (peat or none peat based). They need to be grown on in cool conditions. A cold frame is ideal. Protection is only needed against the hardest frosts.

    To your growing success.
