    Thanks...do you not think it looks more like Polygonum affine :)

    Hello 888300 and welcome to GC.

    I would have said it was a Polygonum ... at least it looks like the one I had.

    Persicaria and Polygonums are very very similar, indeed many of the latter are now classed as the former.

    :wink: I think you will find we are talking about the same plant family the polygonaceae family.. Polygonum persicaria I think is the tall one seen wild in fields & some borders,,[​IMG]

    & Persicaria bistorta is the shorter ground cover type one,

    which is what the photo looked like to me that was all.. :wink: Plus did you know it was a member of the Knotweed family that has been tamed..!! :dh::D

    Thanks everyone...yes it is indeed a member of the knotweed family. It is the shorter type which looks like Polygonum affine...at least I now know what it is..thankyou :thumb:
