white beetroot prob

    we've never grown white beetroot before, and for some reason it went to flower very early, so hubby pulled them all up and they were all small. :cnfs: what went wrong? the normal beetroot is growing ok and not going to flower

    Beetroot goes to seed if sown too early, perhaps before May. There are a few varieties which don't such as Boltardy
    They can also go to seed if they get a check in growth such as a really dry spell - it's a panic response like ' I must reproduce before I die!' It also happens when they are started in modules and left too long before planting.
    Theres still time to sow again
