Pond skaters

    Where do they come from? Can they fly? We have had small ponds for a number of years in our garden, but I've never seen any pond skaters. Since building our new, bigger pond, pond skaters have appeared!

    Yes - they have wings and can fly

    Thanks - that solves that little puzzle, then! ;)

    I think what really baffled me was the fact that they only appeared with the construction of the bigger pond - I wonder if they like a particular amount of 'open' water? The same was true for the damselflies... :rolleyes:
