My purple sprouting broccoli and broad beans are coming on apace but the peas and French beans are pathetic. Never the less, I had a little success last weekend.

I decided to have a rummage in the potato sacks and get some fresh new potatoes for dinner. Perhaps I was a tad early, I found one spud the size of a sprout! Whilst I was doing that I noticed two nice ripe raspberries on the plant so ate them and then on the blackcurrant, found 5 ripe fruits! Yum yum! Also noticed a few pea pods ready for picking. When podded, I had the amazing amount of 18gms! But boy, did they make good eating?

Can't wait for the rest to be ready! This is the good bit of gardening, eh?

Daisees, really enjoyed looking at your garden and aswell as the lupin/ foxglove combination.
I was particularly impressessed with the edging of you borders. I'm thinking about having similar adges. How often do you redefine the edges/ tidy them up to prevent grass regrowing in the border?

I'm also quite relieved that you've stopped growing poppies for opium- what a relief!!-

Have to be honest, I have a chap come round every couple of weeks to cut the grass, weed and do the heavy and boring work for me! I took him on when I was laid up with the bad knee and then whilst having it replaced and haven't had the heart to tell him I don't want him any more! But he does edge the lawn well though I sometimes have a suspicion that the lawns are a lot smaller now than since he started coming! :hehe:

He's also not very pleased with me that I won't let him cut where the clover is! I tell him, 'are you kidding? I waited years to get some clover/daisies/buttercups in my lawn. Much nicer than grass!' So he does cut around it but 'tut tuts' while he does!

    Glad you enjoyed the tour!
