Goodness! your allotment is amazing Fancy and those cabbages look like prize-winners!

Do you just put compost on or do you use fertilizer too? Do I see broad beans way behind the potatoes? Makes my mouth water just looking at all these yummy veggies.

Kedi, I put 120 Broadbeans in and they have all taken. also my runner beans have flowers on them.
this allotment plot has been dorment for 20 years. all I put in the soil is farm manure now I have lots of green manure to turn in.

hi Tricia, this allotment plot was not cultivated for 20 years. the guys on the allotment too say my cabbages are better than theirs. I feel quite elated.

Do you plan on feeding the 40,000? Those cabbages are a give away that you're of Portuguese heritage. :D

Wow Fancy, you are a proper gardener ! Your allotment is fantastic. Great idea growing through the membrane. Does this make harvesting difficult or is it limited to produce harvested above ground ? [IMG]

BM, after harvesting I will lift weed membrane to plough it then will put it down again in the spring after its been rotivated. this is my first allotment.

Really LofL. as for the 40.000 its only the neighbours.

Roxy, I have decided to have 8 raised beds in the front row as I find this is more manageable and less weeding to do. I recycled my old greenhouse frame and put netting over them to keep the whitefly away and it worked.
